“MAS MAN” SELECTED FOR INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

On March 30th, the 2010 Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival will feature Trinidad and Tobago as the host country for the event entitled Around the World in 80 Days. The Festival will feature the film Mas Man, which chronicles the life of artist Peter Minshall. The film was produced and directed by Trinidad and Tobago national, Mr. Dalton Narine, with financial assistance from the Trinidad & Tobago Film Company.

The Festival which is being hosted in collaboration with The Consulate General of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Florida celebrates a different country, one evening of every month, presenting a film from that host country, simultaneously featuring its fashion, culture, music and cuisine.

The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival attracts a diverse audience from within the South Florida area and so presents an invaluable opportunity for civic and cultural groups of Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) to demonstrate the vibrancy of T&T culture and our delectable foods. The festival will be held from 5:30 pm. at the following location:

The Trinidad and Tobago Film Company (TTFC) applauds this initiative as it is in keeping with the vision of the company to extend the reach of local content both at home and in international markets. The TTFC has plans to host T&T Film events later on this year within the Diaspora in Miami, London, New York and Toronto. Domestically, the TTFC is rolling out its T&T Film Nights – Cinema Showcase under the stars, taking local films to communities across Trinidad and Tobago. The next event is carded for April 17th at the Chaguanas Borough Corporation Car Park, details of which will be forthcoming.
